Encouraging Hope Edition 1– Patience

This issue reminds us that our timing for God to bless us is not always the same as God’s timing to bless us. Often we must wait and be obedient to God’s Word before we will receive the blessing that we seek.

When we choose to give our fears to God we are inviting Him into the suffering caused by our fears and exercising our faith in Him to work out all things for our good (Romans 8:28).

This issue reminds us that our needs are opportunities for us to grow our faith in trusting God, rather than a source of anger. We must trust God in the tough times and in the good times. We know that in trusting God during tough times that we must override our natural desire to worry. In doing this, we find that we find the peace and security that only God can provide. This issue reminds us God is near to the praises of His people (so if you want to see God at work in your life, praise Him in all of the little things each day). Praising God in the little things each day will cause our faith to grow to believe Him for the big things in life that we need.

This issue reminds us that God created each of us to be unique and that He loves that uniqueness about us. He knew that you were going to be in prison and has a plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) to use your experiences in prison to bring you new life from the circumstances of your life that have caused you pain.

This issue reminds us that the thoughts of our mind become self-fulfilling prophecies in behavior. Therefore, if we want to start seeing life from a better perspective then we must change our mind and start believing better things about ourselves, the people in our lives, and God.

This issue reminds us that in Christ we are now ready to start a new life based upon the truth of His Word and the freedom of His Spirit.

This issue tells us that the key to receiving God’s blessings is obedience to the principles of God’s Word.

A man asked Jesus once, “how much do you love me”? Jesus stretched His arms open as wide as he can (just like on the cross) and said “this much”.
